There is something very powerful in sheer adrenaline through a primal rage. The kind you might encounter when your life suddenly becomes a mere teetering variable which in turn triggers a response in our brains which brings to life the ultimate primal force that makes us fight for our very lives instilling our ever present primal fear of death. Yet its just an alteration of our senses and how we perceive reality which is shaped by the chemical reactions that have taken place in our bodies. Like being addicted to any drug we become an addict of our own thoughts and hormonal chemical balances like one might become and addict of the chemicals that go along with depressive thoughts or becoming an addict of fear letting it twist and mangle any logical thought ….the kind of fear one might let themselves become a tireless victim of along with all the nifty paranoia and the like
The question that comes to mind then is do you wish to live a life of primal passion such as the oh so alluring world of Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club sort of living life as a play toy of realities consequences. Depending of course on how you choose to see or experience such a given reality. Or there is the other side of the spectrum to live under the ideal of a logic open mind with a calm collectiveness and patience. It seems to me that the large majority of the human species tends to lean more towards a primal reasoning that being mainly letting ones primal urges be the controlling factor of ones thoughts and decision making. Perhaps it just me but for the most part I would say a majority of what goes about in our brains dealing with our emotive state we remain oblivious to the actions and mechanics of our own minds to such an extent that one might become entangled in their own skewed realities well at the same time unaware of it
The goal still remains for most survival which goes along with being able to adapt in your environment and defend yourself against any who may challenge you which still has its importance depending on what your focus and goal is. but what im really trying to get at here is that we may all be animals yet we have been given the great gift of a conscious mind able to comprehend our own existence and our surrounding world. Now is it really such a task to evolve beyond our primal animalistic senses. I’m not saying in anyway that we should just ignore our primal sense and urges and pretend as though we are not just animals since it is a very important thing to remember our origins but that we have been given the option to use such a powerful mind which gives us the ability to apply reason and logic to those impulses not just remain in this primitive mode but to check our emotions not just remain a vessel of hormonal reactionary impulses. like a child may be attracted to the great thrill and power of destruction the feeling of a dominating victorious force but at some point you would be expected to rise above that and realize there is more to life then action with brute force instead of continually feeding a destructive urge because the rest of society live their lives in mindless frenzies of routine weeding out those who fail to be economically viable leaving them to fend for themselves with such an aggressive nature
